Operator Classes

Zero Company features 7 standard classes available for custom operators, plus special story-locked classes. Each class has distinct abilities, weapon proficiencies, and tactical roles. You can deploy up to 4 operators per mission.

Heavy

Role: Tank / Area Damage

Heavily-armored frontline combatants who specialize in rocket launchers and other heavy weapons. They absorb damage, control chokepoints, and deliver area-of-effect devastation against clustered enemies. The Heavy is the backbone of any squad that needs to hold ground.

Sharpshooter

Role: Ranged DPS

Long-range precision experts who pick off high-value targets from across the map. Sharpshooters dominate sightlines and reward careful positioning. Pair them with Scouts who can reveal enemies from stealth to maximize their effectiveness.

Scout

Role: Recon / Mobility

Fast, stealthy recon specialists who move farther than other classes and can reveal enemy positions without being detected. Scouts set up flanks, mark targets, and provide critical intelligence. They're essential for maps with fog of war and hidden enemies.

Medic

Role: Support / Healer

The most important class for survival. Medics provide healing and support, and their First Responder passive fully heals revived operators — unlike non-Medic revives which only restore a fraction of health. Running a Medic is the single most effective permadeath prevention strategy.

Soldier

Role: Balanced DPS

Versatile all-rounders effective at both close and medium range. Soldiers bring a diverse arsenal and can adapt to any tactical situation. They're the reliable backbone of any offensive lineup and a great choice when you need flexibility.

Scoundrel

Role: Utility / Tricks

Opportunistic improvisers who thrive in chaos. Scoundrels have unpredictable abilities, creative problem-solving tools, and skills that exploit enemy mistakes. They reward creative play and can turn desperate situations into victories.

Gunslinger

Role: Burst DPS

High-risk, high-reward aggression. The Gunslinger's signature ability refreshes AP on kill, enabling chains of finishing blows. A skilled Gunslinger can clear multiple enemies in a single turn — but overextending can leave them exposed.

Special / Story-Locked Classes

Certain story characters have exclusive classes not available to custom operators:

Squad Building Philosophy

With up to 4 operators per mission, squad composition is the most important strategic decision before deployment. Here are proven compositions:

Balanced Squad (Recommended for Beginners)

Aggressive Squad

Stealth/Infiltration Squad

Bond Synergy

Don't just pick classes — pick pairings. Operators who deploy together build bonds that unlock cross-training and Call for Backup. A Heavy + Medic pair that always deploys together will eventually become far more effective than rotating random compositions.
